Al-Iman Mosque (Tiban Mosque)
Al-Iman Loano Mosque locates in
Loano Village, Loano District, Purworejo Regency or on Magelang-Purworejo
Street Km 7. At first, Al Iman Loano Mosque named Tiban Mosque. Then by the
Ministry of Religion named this mosque with the name of Al Imam Mosque.
Residents believe that this mosque is a relic of Sunan Geseng, a student of
Sunan Kalijaga.
Around society believe that Al-lman Mosque
does not begin stand in curent position. Al-Iman Mosque build on the edge Sigendel
river flowing through Loano Village. In the history tells that the mosque moved
position when the Islamic Mataram Kingdom disport by Dutch into Surakarta and
Yogyakarta. The age of this mosque began to unfold in 1993. When official of Balai Pelestarian Peninggalan
Purbakala (BP3) Prambanan saw the mosque.
They take some architecture photographs and carving on the mosque.
After the photos research by BP3
archaeologists, they conclude that the shape and type of Masjid Al-Iman carving
is older than the Great Mosque of Demak. In addition, some believe that the
mosque has the uniqueness of a wooden taper on the dome of the mosque. If the
tip of the wood on the pointed wood changes direction, then it becomes a marker
will happen disaster in the intended direction.
