Samba
One day, there lived a boy named
Samba. He lived in a small village called Sangarasa. The village was very
secluded. He lived, with his father who work as a wood seller. They had a
female horse. Samba and his father's life was very simple. For the sake of
their daily life they rely on the sale of wood, but not every day the woods are
sold out. Sometimes they are only eating sweet potato in their yard garden.
Nevertheless, they never sad or despair.
On a hot afternoon, Samba and his
father went to the woods to look for wood. As usual, his father carried a
bundle of wood to be sold to the market. Samba actually pity to see his father
had to carry the wood every day. Samba had asked his father to bring the wood
with their horses but his father rejected him with the reason he was still able
to do this job alone. When Samba and his father are on the way to the market,
suddenly Samba said.
“Father, I'm tired, I do not go to
the market. I will go home”, Samba said with a weak face.
Samba’s father allowed him to go
home. On the way, Samba kicked a long wood that blocked. But suddenly the wood
moves. Samba shocked because he kicked a snake. The snake immediately looked at
the person who kick. Samba dodge from the snake. He wanted to scream and run,
but his legs could not run. Suddenly….
"Hey, why did you kick
me?", the snake said. Sambas frightened is more and more because the snake
is talking to him.
"Hey, why do not you answer me?", ask
the snake again.
“I ... I… I do not know if my kick
was a snake”, Samba said.
“Why can you talk? Who are you? Are
you invisible?”, asked Samba in his frightened. The snake is getting closer to
Samba.
“I will not hurt you, I want to ask
help”, the snake said.
“What do you want? "Samba
asked. Samba look the snack. There was injury on the snake's body. The snake
asked Samba to accompany her to a cave because the snake could not afford to
creep longer. In his frightened, Samba brought the snake with both hands.
When they arrived at a cave, the
Snake asked Samba to take a leaf next to the cave to put it on the injury of
the snake's body. After that Samba said goodbye home because the day is getting
dark. Just a few steps Samba left the snack, the snake said.
"Thank you".
Samba turned away his gaze. He fell
down and was amazed at what he looked. It was not injury snack, but a beautiful
girl with sparkling eyes.
Samba fell in love with the girl.
The girl came near Samba and begins to tell her that she is deliberately
stopping in the middle of the way so she could find someone who wants to take
care with her. The girl ran away from her home because contend with her mother.
"Then, how do you turn into a
snake?", Asked Samba.
The girl did not answer. Finally,
Samba takes her to her house. Samba does not think about how she can turn into
a snake. Arriving home, Samba's father is waiting Samba that did not come. Samba
told me that he met a girl who lost in the forest. He did not tell that she is
a snake. Samba’s father allowed the girl to live in his house.
A few years later, Samba and the
girl got married. Day after day, Samba’s family life no change more. Samba and
his wife have not been blessed with a child. Samba who works with his father
feel less to meet the needs of his household. Finally, Samba decided to wander
to the city in the hope that their life will improve there. But his wife
refused, he would stay with Dad and his horse at the house.
"I will not leave father. If
you want to go no problem but come back for us here."
Samba went to town. First time. he
only a fruits seller. But, because of his ability in ride a horse and using his
sword, he was appointed a commander in the palace. He remembered the movements
taught by his father. In addition, he is also very good at playing arrow. The
king's family is very happy with Samba. The king wants to marry Samba with the
princess. But Samba refused because he has a wife. But the king does not care
about it. He asked the help of his wife who is a magician to make Samba marry
his daughter. The king's wife gave a poison to give to Samba’s wife. The king
said that the potion is fertility concoction to his wife in order fast pregnant.
He came home happily and gave the potion to his wife. He and his wife had long
wanted a child.
After a while drinking the potion,
Samba's wife felt queasy and dizzy. She fell near the well of her house. Samba
found his wife and bring in the house. He looked at her face and hugged her.
"What happen with you my dear.
Open your eyes, do not you leave me.”, Samba said.
“My husband, I actually know what
kind of potion you bring it in. I know that the potion is poison”, Samba’s wife
said.
“If you know, why you drink it?”,
asked Samba.
"I'm sorry dear. I'm not a good
girl for you. I do not say to you, it's probably can make you know
everything.", Samba's wife said.
"You brought the potion from enchanter.
And the enchanter is my mother ", said his wife. Samba surprised to hear
the words of his wife.
"Samba, do you remember a few
years ago? When our first meeting. I was a snack. I deliberately turned myself
into a snake to meet you. I had a power like my witch's mother. There are
things you do not yet know. Your mother still alive. Ask all the questions you
want to know to your father. Who are you, who your father and who your mother.”,
Samba's wife said.
"I'm sorry Samba. I love you ",
after said the word, samba's wife closed her eyes forever. Samba was very sad.
He cried and hugged her wife. She felt lost his wife because he so loved her. Samba’s father came back from the forest. He found
Samba crying by clasping his wife. The man fell in the floor and cried because
look daughter in law is not lifeless.
After that, samba told what had happened
and what his wife said. Samba’s father began to tell him that the king who
appointed himself as commander is his uncle. Samba’s father is king in the
kingdom before captured by his uncle. Samba’s mother actually still alive. His
mother enchanted become a horse. The queen who change his mother to horse. When
Samba went to town, Samba's father actually knows that Samba’s wife is the
daughter of a magician who has change his mother into a horse. The girl knows
what her mother did. Because of that, she wants to marry Samba. His wife wants
to take care of Samba and his family.
Hearing that, Samba cried.
Immediately, he went to the stables and see the mom from distance. The next day
Samba returns to the palace. With her angry he rode the palace’s horse to the
palace. Arriving there, he tried to compose herself. He wants to kill his uncle
soon. But, he did other thing. Samba said to his uncle that he will marry his
daughter. But, the king and the queen have to meet his parent in the forest
after his marriage. Only the three of them who come there. Without the king’s
daughter. His uncle deal with the request.
After the wedding party passed, they went to
the Samba’s house. Arriving there, the king was shocked because someone he met
is his own brother. Samba’s father looked old.
“Uncle”, Samba said. The king was
surprised because Samba suddenly called him with the word.
"You have destroyed my family. You
and your wife have poisoned my wife. You are a murderer," said Samba with
angry. Do you know who is my wife? She is Madayu. Your daughter”, Samba said.
"Madayu", said the king's
wife.
Samba fight with the king. It was a
terrific battle between Samba and his uncle. Samba managed to deflect the
king's sword. When he will kill the king, he pulls back his sword. He
remembered his wife. He so loves his wife and realize that her uncle is his
wife’s father.
“I will not kill you. I will not
pollute my hand and make my wife disappointed, "Samba said. When Samba
turning his body, the king took the sword and immediately stabbed Samba.
But, quickly the horse from the cage
came out and blocked the sword. She slipped the horse. Samba and his father
approached the horse. Samba took the sword directly and kill his uncle. Samba
ran to his mother soon. Suddenly, arise light from the horse's body and change
into a human body. Sincerely the horse turns into the Samba’s mother. Her belly is covered in blood.
"Forgive me mom.”, Samba said.
" Samba ... ", said
Samba's mother and smiled. Her mother closed her eyes. Samna and his father was
cry. The queen closer to them and said.
“I'm sorry Samba. I took the
witchcraft on your mother. Maybe it will not make everything back like from the
beginning. All this is my fault. Kill me! I deserve this punishment.”
“I will not kill you. You can alienate
yourself in the forest. Never you go back to the palace or in front of me
", said Samba.
“Okay, I'll do it if you want. Thank
you for loving my daughter, "the queen said.
After that incident, Samba and her
father came back to the palace without his wife and his mother. Samba’s father
became to king again, but he gives the place to the son. So, Samba a commander,
now a king in the palace. He became a wise and just leader to the community.
But behind all that there is longing and there is sadness that deep in his
heart. He missed his wife and his mother.
